Montblanc Star Legacy Nicolas Rieussec Chronograph 43 mm Limited Edition – 821 pieces: 43 mm case, automatic chronograph movement, water-resistant to 50 m, limited edition of 821 pieces.
Description
The Montblanc Star Legacy Nicolas Rieussec Chronograph invites you to relive the horse races held on the Champ-de-Mars in 1821. The dial features a 19th-century illustration of four jockeys and their horses on the Paris racecourse, crossing the finish line where Nicolas Rieussec once stood with his invention, the ink chronograph. A host of golden touches on the Arabic numerals, the hour and minute hands and the chronograph counters complement the brown dial. The French inscriptions "Académie des Sciences de Paris" and "Chronographe Nicolas Rieussec" are engraved on the flange, recalling that the Academy validated Rieussec's invention in 1821. The strap lining is also decorated with a map of Paris from 1821. The brown calfskin strap was specially designed by Marco Tomasetta, Montblanc's Artistic Director, who drew on the nibs of the Maison's writing instruments for its pointed shape. Limited to 821 pieces, this watch has a 43 mm stainless steel case and is powered by the manufacture automatic monopusher chronograph movement MB R200. A "Clou de Paris" graphic pattern, inspired by the geometric design of Paris's cobbled streets, decorates the oscillating weight.
